Formed in 2006, the group is actively soliciting members from the community. The non-profit 501c3 group is committed to promoting cultural events throughout the community and giving exposure and recognition to artists within our community. The group has already put on several successful programs and planning is underway for more.

"Artists Group" Starting October 10 will meet Monday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon in the Cantina Clubhouse in Arcadia Village, 2692 Hwy 70 East. Call Clel at 494-2701 for more information.
The group will be starting the Winter season soon, look for annoucements. Cost to participate is $5.00 per evening. For more information call Pamela Davis at 863-993-7960.“The DeSoto Writers Group” meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Last Chapter Book Store on Oak Street. Anyone with an interest in writing is welcome. Members read and critique each other’s work and guest speakers are scheduled occasionally. CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES
Art for Kids every Wednesday at the DeSoto County Library at 3 p.m. This program is aimed at grade-school age children and is free and open to the public. Contact Shirley Taylor at 494-5154.

NEW PROGRAMS
“Art for the Visually Impaired” is a new program to allow those with limited vision to explore creativity. Call leader Ana Demertzis for additional information at 863-993-1321.
